I am Madison Delacroix, a student in Southeastern Louisiana University’s Clinical Mental Health Counseling graduate program and an intern here at Prairieville Counseling. I will graduate in the spring of 2025. My dream of becoming a counselor began when I experienced the positive impact of a great counselor as a young child struggling at school. As I got older, I saw the need for counselors and became passionate about pursuing this career. I'm an animal lover and love singing and listening to music.
I approach counseling with an Adlerian perspective, integrating techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Narrative Therapy to help clients rewrite their stories in ways that align with how they see themselves and who they want to become. I offer support for those facing anxiety, depression, and stress-related concerns. I also have a special interest in working with men’s issues, helping clients explore identity, relationships, and life transitions in a supportive and nonjudgmental space. I encourage clients to set the pace of our sessions, and I guide them in understanding their behaviors and challenging unhelpful beliefs through a collaborative, strengths-based approach.
I work with adolescents (ages 10 and up) and adults.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations from Louisiana State University. I took an online course in 2020 from Yale called the science of being happy to learn how to cope with the pandemic and help others.
