Hello! Most people call me Jess (she/her). I’m a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC). I'm a lover of animals, an avid traveler, and a person who attends counseling. Before becoming a counselor, I spent 14 years as a high school English teacher. I come from a big, loud New Orleans family—I’m number 11 of 23 grandchildren! I’m married with three stepsons, three grandchildren, and a very spoiled cat.
My approach to therapy is grounded in a constructivist perspective, which means I believe that everyone’s unique experiences and circumstances shape who they are and how they navigate life. I view the client as the expert on their own life, and my role is to walk alongside you, supporting the changes you want to make and tailoring interventions to meet your individual needs. I am passionate about supporting LGBTQIAP+ clients and their families. I’m also especially passionate about play therapy. Helping children express themselves, heal, and grow through this approach is a truly beautiful experience.
I work with children (ages 5 and up), adolescents, and adults, and offer relationship and family counseling. I have experience and additional training in the following areas:
I received my B.A. in Secondary English Education from SLU in 2007, and I later received my master’s in Educational Leadership through American College of Education 2020. I earned a Master's Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University in 2024.

I do not accept insurance, EAP's Medicaid or Medicare.
