Hi, I’m Ashlyn! I grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and attended Louisiana State University. I was proud to be part of the first graduating class for the LSU Bachelor’s in Social Work program.
I’m married and have a young daughter, along with a dog and cat who keep life fun and busy. Outside of work, I love reading and anything creative, especially drawing and painting. Spending time with my family and loved ones is incredibly important to me. My mom, who is also a social worker, has been one of my biggest influences and helped inspire my path into this field.
What draws me most to this work is the opportunity to form genuine relationships with others, earn their trust, and be a steady source of support through both the good and difficult moments in life.
My approach to therapy is strengths based, person centered, and relational. I focus on helping clients build confidence, recognize their self worth, and develop healthier patterns in their thoughts and behaviors.
I work to create a space where clients feel comfortable, supported, and understood, while also being gently challenged to grow. I enjoy incorporating creativity and personal interests into sessions to make therapy feel more engaging and meaningful. A key part of my work is helping clients move beyond labels or past experiences that may be holding them back, and supporting them in building on their strengths to create lasting change.
I work with children (age 7 +), adolescents, adults, and families. My background includes experience as a pediatric emergency department social worker and a school based social worker. I have worked extensively with children and adolescents, including preschool through high school, and have a strong passion for working with high school aged young men.
I have experience and additional training in various areas including:
I hold a Bachelor of Social Work and a Master in Social Work both from Louisiana State University.
