Jennifer Ladd, LPC-A, NCC

Hi, I’m Jen! My pronouns are she/they.  I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC), a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS) and a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-275).  I am honored to work with clients through their journey of authentic self-discovery.  In my free time I enjoy reading, practicing yoga, riding my bike, being outside and spending time with my dog, Levi. 

I know that beginning the therapy process can feel overwhelming. If you feel like we may be a good fit I encourage you to reach out whenever you feel that you are ready.

I utilize an existential approach to therapy that incorporates mindfulness based practices, somatic awareness and focuses on your individual needs and goals for therapy.  I value all dimensions of human diversity and I am an accomplice with the LGBTQAI+ community.  I support clients in working through stuck emotional patterns and nervous system overwhelm. I have additional experience working with veterinary professionals and firefighters.  My practice is non-judgmental, trauma-informed, and collaborative in an effort to cultivate trust, safety, and respect. 

I work with adults and adolescents (ages 14 and older) individually and in group therapy. I also offer relationship therapy. I have experience and additional training in the following areas:

• Trauma Recovery 
• Brainspotting 
•  LGBTQAI+ Experiences (including gender dysphoria, gender exploration & gender transition)
• Anxiety 
• Grief and Loss

I enjoy and  value the opportunity to engage with other professionals through consultation, continued education events and presenting at conferences. I recently facilitated a CEU event Navigating Grief: Ethics, Trauma-Informed Care, and Evidence-Based Interventions.  I’ve also had the honor of presenting at the Louisiana Counseling Association Conference (2020, 2021, 2023) and the Holy Cross Ethics Conference (2021, 2022). Topics have included Honoring Queer Grief and Joy through Somatic Practices, Social Media and Grief, Applying Ethics and Reducing Risk in Trauma Treatment, Uncovering Bias, and The Effect of COVID-19 on Grief Experiences.
