----- UNABLE TO ACCEPT NEW CLIENTS -----

KIRSTEN DANTIN, LPC-A, NCC

About Me

Hello, I'm Kirsten (she/her).  From an early age, I knew I wanted to help people navigate mental health, trauma, and grief. This passion began in 7th grade after witnessing my Godfather's family cope with a significant loss.   Outside of the office, I enjoy photographing nature, playing Dungeons & Dragons with friends, and focusing on my growing family.

My approach

Since 2019, I’ve been working with clients and specialize in grief and trauma, supporting individuals, relationships, and members of the LGBTQ+ community, as well as those managing anxiety and depression. While I primarily work with clients aged 14 and older, I occasionally see younger clients on a case-by-case basis, especially if they’re dealing with trauma. My approach to therapy is rooted in active listening, as I believe everyone has a story that deserves to be heard—especially in a world where many feel unseen. Guided by the belief that progress happens in small, meaningful steps, I meet clients where they are, whether they’re ready to dive into trauma work or need time to prepare for deeper exploration. No matter what you bring to my (in person or virtual) office, you can expect to be met with non-judgement, compassion, and authenticity.  I am committed to providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all my clients.

My Specialties

I work with adolescents (ages 14 and older), adults, and older adult clients.  I also offer relationship counseling. I  have additional training and  experience in the following areas:

  • Relationship Therapy
  • LGBTQAIP+ Experiences
  • Work or School Stressors
  • Grief
  • Anxiety and Depression

I have presented at the Terrel Conference 2020, Holy Cross Ethic’s Conference 2020 & 2021, and LCA 2020 & 2022.   I am available for speaking and presentation events.

Groups

I enjoy working with clients in group settings.  Listed below is my current group.

  • Allie's Unite Group.  This is a group for parents and loved ones of LBGTQIAP+ adolescents and young adults.

My education

I earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Southeastern Louisiana University in May of 2020. I hold the following licenses and certifications:

  • Licensed Professional Counselor LPC-A # 8223
  • Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) #1405375
  •  Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) from Evergreen certifications (certification #324197).
